Inocybe napipes Lange syn. Astrosporina napipes (Lange) Pearson. Rübenstielger Risspilz, Bulbous Fibrecap. Cap 2–5cm across, conical to bell-shaped with pointed umbo, chestnut brown to umber, covered in radial fibres. Stem 30–60 x 5–7mm, whitish at apex and at base of bulb, stem tinged with cap colour. Flesh whitish buff in cap and bulb, darker in stem. Taste mild, smell slight, not distinctive. Gills adnexed, whitish then dingy brown. Cystidia thick-walled, ventricose, with apical encrustation. Spore print snuff-brown. Spores oblong with several prominent knobs, 9–10 x 6µ. Habitat in damp deciduous and mixed woods. Season summer to late autumn. Frequent. Poisonous. Distribution, America and Europe. |
